Blush by Hayley Paige Fall 2016

What to expect from the latest collection!

Over the course of our years carrying the Blush by Hayley Paige bridal collection, we’ve come to find that these dresses are perfect for the bride who wants it all! Looking for something classic, but with modern touches? Love lace AND bling? Want to feel both sexy and elegant? Then this collection is for you! Somehow Hayley Paige manages to combine many different elements seamlessly into one gorgeous, cohesive dress, and you get to reap (and wear!) the benefits! Plus, her Blush collection is at an affordable price point that should make all wallets happy 🙂

This weekend we’re hosting a trunk show for HP’s latest Blush collection (Fall 2016) and we cannot wait to see these multi-faceted beauties on our Boston brides! Here’s what you can expect from this fresh crop of stunners:

Modern straps – Spaghetti is great on your plate, but we’re looking for something new and fresh when it comes to our shoulders! Blush’s Fall 2016 collection has a huge number of strapped looks (8 out of 9!) that will make strapless haters happy, and their innovative designs make Flair (and you) happy!

The Anouk gown features a cage of bling on the shoulders…yes please!

Unique pops of skin – The illusion look has been super popular in recent years, and while we still love it, we’re happy to see Hayley Paige showcasing skin in new ways! Worried about showing too much flesh? Have no fear; HP knows how to show off your fab figure in the most elegant, wedding ready ways!

The underarm doesn't typically get a ton of love, until now! Lanai gown, we heart ya!

Tulle – The ballgown is back, y’all! OK, so it never really went away but we are definitely seeing an increase in brides looking for that floaty, Cinderalla look, and lucky for them, Hayley Paige has taken notice! This new collection is full of beautiful and oh so bridal tulle that will have you looking and feeling like you’re floating on a cloud!

A Trend Report

On the heels of New York Fashion week, we have trends on the brain. Watching the collections walk the runway is basically like having someone say “Hint hint, this is what you should be wearing.” It’s perfect; you get to look at pretty clothes, spot celebrities in the front row, and stay on top of your fashion game all at the same time. The bridal world is no different; each collection gives brides a heads up on what is fresh and new in wedding wear. Seeing as how our Hayley Paige trunk show coincides with NYFW, we figured now was the perfect time for a HP trend report. Here’s what to look out for:

Florals – Hayley Paige is definitely known for her sparkle. I don’t think she has ever met bling she didn’t like, and you get to reap the benefit with her shining, stunning styles! In her latest collections, though, we’ve seen a major increase in another pretty detail – flowers! Whether it’s via embroidery, appliqués, or lace, florals have popped up more and more in her recent work, and we’re loving it!

Darker tones – Hayley’s got your back; she knows that white is not an easy color to wear, so she always fills her collections with plenty of hue options. Choices range from the still traditional ivory tones to the more modern blushes and blues. There’s truly something for everyone!

Oh pretty Nicoletta, we're obsessed with you!

See ya strapless – Straps have made a major comeback in the past few years, and Hayley Paige’s collections are no exception. I think a big part of what we love about strapless is the subtle sex appeal, so HP always makes sure to pop some va va voom in other areas of her strapped designs, in the form of illusion details, low backs, and more!

A-line – In recent years, it seems like brides have been into the extremes when it comes to silhouettes. We saw tons of fitted mermaids, and plenty of voluminous ballgowns, but less options in the middle. Thankfully, Hayley Paige knows that brides like options, and she has provided them with beautiful a-line styles that are the perfect mix of flowy and fitted.

Finding the perfect wedding dress

How saying no can ultimately help you say yes to the dress!

I’m a total people pleaser; I’ve always had a difficult time saying no, especially to those that I love. In the past, if I ever did have to say no, I was always ready with a valid reason why. As I’ve gotten older, though, I’ve learned that saying no isn’t always such a bad thing. I don’t have to be all things to all people, and saying no every now and then is totally fine; no excuses or reasons necessary. You know who could stand to be reminded of that? Brides! In our line of work, we’re typically all about saying yes to the dress, but we’re here to tell you that there are also times when it’s totally acceptable to say no. Here’s when:

If the dress is over your budget – This is a given. Sure, it’s all fun and games in the store, but when you get home and have to break the news to your fiancé and re-budget everything, things may not seem so amusing.

Speaking of finding your perfect dress - we have a Hayley Paige Fall 2015 trunk show coming up...so we'll just leave this here ;)

If your friends/family love the dress more than you do – It can be easy to get caught up in the ohh’s and ahh’s from your audience, but try and focus on your feelings above all else. If you’re not having the same strong reaction they are, it’s probably not the dress for you.

Would be hard to say no to this beauty!

Would be hard to say no to this beauty!

If the dress is perfect, BUT… – There are tons of gowns out there, so you don’t have to settle. If you find yourself thinking “This would totally be my dress if thing a, b, or c was different” then it’s likely not your gown. Keep looking, you’ll find one that you won’t want to change a thing!

Can't see a thing we'd change about this stunning style!

Can’t see a thing we’d change about this stunning style!

No, just no – Sometimes we can’t pinpoint it, but something is just telling us “this isn’t right.” Like I said above, you don’t always need a reason. If the gown looks great and is in budget, but it just isn’t clicking with you, then say no. Listen to your gut!

We always remind our brides that it’s OK to not like/say no to a dress. After all, every no gets you a little bit closer to the one that makes you say “Yes!” 🙂

Wedding Dress Necklines

We’re still on fashion cloud nine after our recent trip to New York Bridal Market. Seeing the latest wedding styles hit the runways is so exciting! The only downside? New York Bridal Market

A Trend Report

Let’s face it, all of us girls love shopping. Some of us prefer clothes shopping, while others get a thrill out of home decor. Hey, I’m such a shopping addict that I even enjoy the grocery store! Wherever you shop, I think we can all agree that it’s just nice to treat yourself and discover new things. That’s one of the many reasons that we love New York Bridal Market; we get to shop all of the new bridal collections and bring the gorgeous goodies back to our equally gorgeous Boston brides! Not to mention that we’ll take any excuse to stroll around Manhattan doing our best Carrie Bradshaw walk/run in heels. And getting face time with our kind, talented designers? Always amazing! Having just returned from this year’s Bridal Market, we wanted to pass along a few of the hot, new trends that we spotted. We can’t wait to see them on all of you as the 2016 dresses arrive later this winter!

1) Toppers – Every girl who has been to a bridal shop knows how much a belt/sash can change the look of a gown. It’s amazing how much one accessory can really elevate the look! While belts are here to stay (yay!), there’s a new accessory on the block that is changing the bridal/bridesmaids world – toppers! Slipping one of these tops of over your dress is an easy way to create a unique, modern look and add some coverage at the same time.

2) Crepe – Sure, lace will always be the quintessential bridal fabric, but there’s a new kid in town that’s getting a ton of buzz – crepe. This lightweight material has the structure of a silk with the ease and feel of a comfortable chiffon; a match made in heaven! Tara Keely showed off some chic, clean crepe styles in her new collection; take a peek below!

3) Mixed Materials – Us girls, we always want the best of both worlds. So, when it comes time to purchase our bridal gown, it can be hard to choose. How is one supposed to decide between the timelessness of lace and the comfort of chiffon? Luckily, the new collections have showed us that we don’t have to choose – we really can have it all! Designer Hayley Paige definitely believes in that mentality. Many of her gowns feature multiple fabrics, and the result is truly modern, unique and stunning!

4) Nude – We’re not talking about showing a ton of skin here, but rather changing up the color of your gown. Darker tones were all the rage on the bridal market runways, and for good reason. White can be a tricky color to wear, so switching to a nude or any other darker shade is a good idea for the many of us that can’t quite pull it off.
