Going Green for your wedding!!

Going green is a pretty common concept now a-days. After all, with studs like Leonardo DiCaprio leading the charge, who wouldn’t follow! You might think that going green for your wedding would be an expensive and time consuming process, but it doesn’t have to be! More and more brides are finding ways to make their weddings eco-conscious, and you can start with your wedding gown!
Seams, one of our lovely bridesmaids’ designers, also makes green wedding gowns (and we’re not talking the color green here ladies). Designer Harper Della Piana uses recycled materials and materials that can easily be dyed to be worn again in the future to keep the recycling going!
Need to see to believe? Check out Seams’ coverage on Fox News here to see and hear more!
Congrats to Harper and Seams on a great concept!

ta ta for now!

Stacey 🙂

Pushing the envelope…..we tried to re-wear a long dress!

 Before……
 after……..
We know what your thinking…..NO WAY, they can not re-wear a long BM dress and…… you might be right.
But, we gave it the old college try….Lindsay re-wore the gorgeous and elegant Thea dress by Jenny Yoo.  We channeled our best “Olsen sisters” look and thought…hey we can totally pull this off as a cute summer maxi dress.  We forgot one thing…it’s not summer and it gets dark at 4pm!
We were supposed to take “wear it again” out to the streets and well, it was really cold and it got too dark.  So, yes, we wore our sunglasses at night and added a big handbag, some sweet gold flat sandals, a comfy sweater, and a studded belt

So honestly…we know we are stretching this wear it again a little, but give us a break…we really tried!

Until next week when we try again
Stacey  🙂

Advice from our newest Flair Employee!!

I have always been obsessed with weddings. No hyperbole here, I really do mean obnoxiously, offensively obsessed. I am that girl. And if you were looking for clarification, I’m neither engaged nor married. So, when I stumbled upon a job opening at Flair, I jumped and I have been in love life ever since: half cheesy, half true. Despite being a full time student, an almost full time employee (I plea guilty to the constantly-connected iPhone pandemic) and an occasional sleeper, I wouldn’t change anything. I get to work with two lovely ladies and scads of beautiful brides.
Now, with countless number of appointments under my belt, here are a few things I’ve learned about how to get the most out of your bridesmaid and bridal shopping experience:
1. The more may not be the merrier:
I completely understand wanting to have a fun filled girls day of trying on dresses and exchanging gossip, but six girls equals six opinions, and that can be difficult. Expect to go to more than one appointment—save the first one for you and a close friend or two while inviting everyone to the second one to reveal the final choice! This will help you focus on what you really want for your wedding, at the same time as allowing all of your bridesmaids to have some say in the process.
2. Don’t knock it until you try it:
Let’s be honest, how many times have we heard a sales person swear that something will look better on the body than it does on the hanger? Well, I hate to break it to you, but it’s true. Numerous numbers of the dresses in our store look FANTASTIC once on, even though they’re ‘not-so-much’ while hanging. So be open! Understand that it might be easier to find the perfect dress after throwing out a few “no’s”. And who knows? You might just pick the one dress you never thought you’d like.
3. Don’t be afraid to commit:
We know how hard weddings are. This is one of the biggest days of your life, and you deserve for everything to be perfect. But at some point, you will have to make a decision. Of course, there are thousands of dresses out there and you could spend forever trying on every single one of them, but for sanity’s sake, let the one be THE ONE
Remember, commitment is a beautiful thing.
Until next time,
xo,
Brooke

Jenny Yoo’s 2011 collection re-worn….already!!!

I know you keep wondering…..how did they do it again???  Well it’s easy when you have beautifully designed dresses to re-wear!!
Jenny Yoo’s NEW 2011 Collection are no exception.
We took one of her new styles “Avery”, that is show in an amazing silk cotton and added a denim jacket, a cute long necklace and some patent leather flats and poof…..a cute outfit to wear out to lunch with friends!!
Let us know what you think!?
Until next week, when we strike again!
Bridesmaid dresses beware, we are going to re-wear you!!
