Things we love: Statement pieces!!!

With the royal wedding right around the corner, there has been non-stop talk (especially amongst the Flair girls) about the statement pieces that Kate Middleton will inevitably wear.
I mean, come on, she has access to the Queen’s jewels and an endless supply of Philip Treacy hats, of course she’ll pull off some jaw-dropping bridal accessories. So in honor of the upcoming nuptials, we’ve compiled some of the most fabulous statement pieces around…and just because you won’t be gaining an official royal title on your wedding day, doesn’t mean you don’t deserve to feel (and dress) like a princess.
Bridal headwear by Philip Treacy

Big Crystal & Chain Necklace by Vera Wang
Rhinestone hair accessory by Erin Cole Couture

Ivory vintage lace statement earrings by This Ilk (on Etsy.com)

Crystal Overload head wrap by Ban.do
Make sure you make a STATEMENT on your “BIG” day!! We sure know Kate Middleton will!!

Wear it again, Back and better then ever….we know you missed us!!

Wear it Again is BACK and better than ever!!
Sorry we took a mini-break from Wear it Again…it’s busy season here people, we’re working hard to get the dresses of your dreams
We’re back in action this week with an adorable dress from Lynn Lugo that Brooke is modeling. It’s called the Rose dress and you can probably see why…the flower detail on the shoulder is super cute and feminine; perfect for a summer party!
We actually bought this one for ourselves, Stacey and I both already have events we’re wearing it to and we cannot wait!! It doesn’t take much to make this one look more ready to wear, it’s pretty darn cute on its own! We added a cardigan and skinny belt and are ready to hit the town!
Happy Spring brides and maids!

Kate Spade….Stuff we reallllllllllly love xoxo

You certainly can not get any more girly and cute then KATE SPADE!
We were inspired by one of our beautiful brides that came in yesterday who picked up her wedding gown and brought along her gorgeous “NEW” Kate Spade heels for the BIG day!

So we checked out Kate Spade’s website and found that she has a whole selection dedicated entirely to weddings!!

Appropriately named “Wedding Belles and Whistles”
The dresses are a little pricey but would be perfect for rehearsal dinners and showers!!

This would go fabulous with one of our simple bridal gown like the Jenny Yoo “Thea”.
BLING, BLING!
These gorgeous heels would pair perfectly with Coren Moore’s Kate in Stone Shantung!!

Enjoy and please share your fab finds from Kate Spade!

Vendor Spotlight: Ode to Wedding Tresses

Hi ladies, I had my hair and makeup trial over the weekend and I have to admit, I was nervous. I’m a little particular when it comes to my hair and makeup, and I felt wary about having someone else do it for me. Can any of you brides relate? Plus, let’s face it, a week after the wedding my man will not be able to recall a single detail about my dress but he will definitely remember if my hair was a mess and I had clown make up on. So, hence my worry.

I chose Wedding Tresses for my hair and makeup because I’d worked with them on a gorgeous Style Me Pretty photo shoot in 2009 and they did an amazing job. Plus, Jackie is such a sweetheart and is SO easy to work with! I went into my trial with a few pictures and ideas and both Jackie, who did my hair, and Holly (makeup artist extraordinaire) did a great job of taking the photos and running with them. By the end, I looked like a slightly more glam version of myself, which is just what I was going for. The last thing I wanted was to not look like myself on my big day. Plus they both had great tips regarding the hair and makeup for my bridal party, mother and future mother in law. Long story short, I should have stopped worrying the minute I booked them!

A few more reasons I adore Wedding Tresses:

1.Their location on Newbury Street is super cute and inviting. Myself and a few others brides were there at the same time and it was so much fun to see what the others were doing and chit chat with everyone.
2. They will travel to you on your wedding day. One less thing to coordinate = heaven.
3. They use makeup that Jackie herself created! It is super lightweight and smooth; my skin never looked so good!
4. All of the girls there seem to really enjoy what they do and they will not let you leave until you are 100% satisfied.

OK, I could go on and on, but check them out for yourself and you’ll see what I mean! This is one thing on your to-do list that you will not have to worry about, I promise!

TTFN beautiful brides!
Lindsay

Appointment Tips: It’s all about the Benjamin’s baby!!

Ladies, we know that weddings can be an astronomical expense. Believe us, we are both planning Boston weddings as we speak!  So we know that every penny counts! Make sure you keep that in mind when coming in for your bridesmaid/bridal
appointments!!
“What’s your budget?” is usually one of the first questions we ask you ladies when you come in so make sure you have asked your girls or you personally know how much you feel comfortable spending.  That way you are never stuck in a sticky situation with your lovely ladies.

However, if you do happen to fall in love with a dress that is a little bit out of reach for your girls it is always nice to put a few dollars towards their dresses so that both you and your girls end up happy with gorgeous dresses without having to spend wayyyyyy out of their budget!

Spotlight on Leslie’s Summer Party!!

One of our favorite brides, Leslie, found inspiration for her August 2010 wedding in a Real Simple Wedding magazine.  The picture had bright colored hydrangeas in light purple, light raspberry and blue.  Those colors shaped our inspiration to have a bright and fun wedding.
The Summer Party included an outdoor tent for the reception. Instead of a wedding cake, they had a cake tower of half moon cookies & chocolate covered strawberries.  They had pinwheels as the escort cards.   On their reply card, guests submitted song requests which they played during the cocktail hour and dinner.   They had different brews of beer served in custom created pint glasses inspired by my husband’s hometown.

They wanted to make sure that everyone had fun and were able to socialize.  They accomplished this with having food stations.  Their guests loved having more time to intermingle, socialize and dance!

Leslie purchased her Coren Moore bridesmaid dresses at Flair.  Leslie had been in 2 previous weddings that also purchased their dresses from Flair.  She had a positive experience during both weddings and knew that Flair could accommodate having her bridesmaids pick their own styles.
Based on her photo inspiration, Leslie wanted a bright colored dress in a classic style.  She loved the quality of Coren Moore’s fabric and selected Riviera Blue in various styles.
When describing her experience at Flair this is what Leslie had to say, “Flair made the process easy.  I had one bridesmaid living in another city and my consultant helped her find a place to go try on dresses for fit and style.  My matron of honor just found out she was pregnant and my consultant helped her figure out the best size dress to order and let her wait a little while to order the dress – which she appreciated.    Our consultant also gave her honest opinion, which is rare in retail.”
Leslie recommends letting your bridesmaids select their own style to ensure that everyone feels great in their dress.  Don’t worry about “what if one girl chooses the same as another…” She had 2 girls pick the same dress whereas the rest had their own unique style.  It looked great that way! No one even noticed that the 2 of them had the same dress.
Leslie’s favorite part of the wedding was marrying  the person she loves and having the most special people in her life surrounding her and her husband as they made their commitment to each other.  And of course, followed by the best party.
Leslie has a few tips for brides planning their wedding today.
 – You can plan a wedding in 5 months – if you are worried that isn’t enough time, it worked for us as long as you have the venue.
– Be decisive.  We didn’t do a whole lot of shopping around – which made the whole process less stressful.  If you meet a vendor you like and they have good references – just book it!
– Have fun! It’s the only time you get to shop for a wedding dress for the first time, shop with your best friends for your big day, etc.
Thanks Lesie for all the wonderful insight and CONGRATS!!!
XOXO

Welcoming Faille to Flair!!

Many of you are probably wondering,  “Hey, what the heck is Faille?”

Well, Faille is textured fabric with slight ribbing similar to grosgrain; its weight allows it to keep great shape during the wear of the dress. It doesn’t wrinkle, comes in a ton of vibrant colors, and lends itself well to many of the Coren Moore bridesmaid styles.
Coren Moore’s  faille is woven in the U.S.A, making a CM faille dress truly made in the U.S.A, start to finish.

We just received our swatch card and samples of Faille today! So, come by for Coren Moore’s Trunk show the weekend and check out the awesome new fabric Faille!!

Happy St. Patrick’s Day!
Wishing you all the Luck of the Irish today!
XOXO
