If it seems too good to be true, it probably is…

Don’t you just love living in the new millennium? I honestly do not remember how we lived sans cell phones and the Internet. Hello, I absolutely must have access to Facebook at all times. I am a little bitter though that we 80’s babies didn’t have the luxury of the Internet growing up (well, pre junior high), it would have made all those book reports a lot easier. Remember spending Sundays at the library doing research, using a card catalog, etc.? Eww. It’s SO much better to do that same research from your laptop with the Kardashians on in the background.

Anyways, the internet has also revolutionized the wedding planning process. Now, you can compare vendors and even see samples of their work all from the comfort of your favorite chaise. You can email them when any little detail comes up and have it taken care of ASAP. Really, it’s a God send. There is one tiny exception that we have found…the super discounted dress sites. C’mon, you know you’ve checked them out. We do not take it personally, why not be a savvy consumer? We do want to caution you though…if they are selling the exact same dress as us for a much cheaper price, there’s a reason for it and they will definitely make that money up somewhere (in tailoring costs, exorbitant shipping or other misc. fees, or just in the stress they will inevitably cause you).

For example, we had a fabulous bride come to us a few weeks ago with a dilemma (and she’s not the only one, we’ve heard plenty of these stories…). She’d ordered her dresses from one of these sites (don’t want to name names and call out this business on the blog, but call us if you want to know who to avoid) and they came in with the wrong trim/sash color. OK, not a good situation but for Flair, though, it’s totally fixable. For this site, apparently, it was not. They never returned her calls and really there’s no customer service department to speak of. Long story short, she shipped the dresses back to them (even though she hadn’t heard from them) and now has to go through the annoying process of contesting their charge on her credit card. NOT what any bride wants to be doing in the weeks before her wedding.

Flair to the rescue! Said fabulous bride came to see us and we, along with the designer’s help, got her dresses to her within a week. So we caution you to remember, you get what you pay for. Flair does not charge anything over the designer’s suggested retail prices and along with that you get US! We are here to help you in any way that we can. Let’s face it, mistakes happen and they’re never fun to deal with but I can promise you that we’ll take care of them much easier and faster than one of those sites.

Happy shopping brides and maids, we look forward to working with lots of you this coming Fall and Winter!

XOXO

Linds 😉
